For draining and drying test tubes, beakers, flasks, and other laboratory glassware. The top row has 12 straight pins 102 mm (4 inches) long to accommodate smaller items. The three lower rows of hairpin-loop supports (14 in all) hold labware with 18 mm ID necks or larger. 

A polystryrene tray at the bottom catches water as the labware drains. The legs of the stand have rubber tipped feet for non-skid use on a tabletop, or the stand may be mounted on the wall using the wire loops on the back.

The stand is 16-3/4" (43 cm) wide x 6" (17 cm) deep x 19" (48 cm) high.

Smaller units utilize the SmarTesterPC Mini-Lab to power sensors and accessories (like valves and pumps), plus acquire and store data. Larger, more complicated systems are handled by a personal computer with accessories like data acquisition and relay boards. In either case long term data archiving and statistical analysis are available with SmartLab software.

Terriss' new line of custom reaction chambers is designed for a variety of scientific studies including soil, wastewater, chemical and biological.

The Leica ARIAS 500 Semi-Automatic Abbe Refractometer has a range of 0 to 100 brix and features an accuracy of +/-0.03% (refractive index of 1.3 to 1.7, accuracy of +/- 0.00005). This unit also features automatic temperature equilibration detection which ensures that the sample is read only when the temperature has stabilized, as well as automatic temperature compensation.

The unit automatically determines the optimal reading point and corrects the reading mathematically for temperature variation. Water bath circulation ports allow connection to temperature control for 10 to 80 deg. C with an accuracy of 0.01 deg. C for samples that must be read at a controlled temperature.

The Leica AR600 Automatic Refractometer features a full brix range of 0 to 90% with an accuracy of +/- 0.01% (refractive index range of 1.33 to 1.52, accuracy of +/- 0.00002).

Unique to the Leica unit is an automatic temperature equilibration detection feature ensuring that the sample is read only when the temperature has stabilized. Along with automatic temperature compensation, the unit takes accurate, temperature corrected readings automatically, eliminating the possibility of operator errors. Water bath circulation ports allow connection to temperature control from 10 to 60 deg. C with an accuracy of 0.01 deg. C for samples that must be read at a controlled temperature.

The user friendly graphic display provides bright, easy to read results in four languages (English, German, Spanish and French). A unique software system provides easy calibration, utilizing from one to five definable points (NIST certified calibration is included; others available). Computer communications are provided through the RS232 serial port interface. This allows the AR600 to be programmed with up to 14 custom scales as well. A parallel port is also included for a printer connection.

The RE40 is a 4 place digital refractometer.

The RE50 is a 5 place digital refractometer.

Digital refractometers measure refractive index and other related values (e.g. brix%, HFCS, user defined concentrations) with high precision and short measuring times. A high resolution optical sensor measures the total reflection of a light beam emitted by a special LED light source after hitting the sample. This total reflection is converted into the measurement. A built-in Peltier thermostat controls the temperature (no water bath required), which saves money and bench top space.

The Atago PAL series refractometers are completely new and redesigned digital, hand-held instruments that will change the traditional conceptions of refractometers. The PAL refractometers are equipped with the following features.

• They are surprisingly compact in size allowing for portability and use indoors or outdoors. Weighing only 100 gm, they can be placed in a pocket or hang them from your neck or belt.

• Measurements can be made easily while holding them in just one hand. The sample stage is designed to keep sample solutions from spilling out.

• The speedy performance of these refractometers is amazing. Simply put a drop of a sample on the prism surface and press the START key. The brix value (sugar content/concentration) will be displayed in just 3 seconds.

• With a digital LCD display others can view the measurement value without the worry of mis-readings due to the subjectivity of each person (as with traditional analog refractometers).

• The protection class of the PAL refractomers is IP65. You can rinse off the sample by running water on the sample stage. The design allows the user to easily wipe off the sample.

• They can take a measurement of a high temperature sample that has been heated or boiled. (The stabilized brix value is acquired after a few times of repeated measurements.)

Refracto is a portable, easy-to-use refractometer for measurements in laboratory and production environments. Depending on the application, the instrument can be used in two ways: Either put it on a flat surface and place a drop of sample onto the measurement cell, or immerse the sensor directly into the fluid. As soon as you press the measurement key, the result is displayed.

You no longer need to rely on error-prone readings of dark/bright transitions as with optical instruments. Refracto even measures dark samples correctly. Because the refractive index is temperature dependent, Refracto can also be programmed to automatically temperature compensate the result.

The resolution of the Refracto is nD0.0001, and you may choose from over 15 different measurements including nD, brix%, HFCS and alcohol%.

The unit stores up to 1,000 measurements. An optional IR adapter is available for transmitting data from the refractometer to a computer or printer.

Refracto is delivered in a special case which contains

everything you need for successful measurements: Pipettes for sample handling, cleaning towels, vials for samples and cleaning solutions, operating instructions and a CD-ROM with data transmission software, a tutorial to get started and more.
